Project Details
It’s imperative to build off of a solid foundation for any roofing project. Many of the older homes in the lower mainland were constructed with shiplap board decks. Over time these boards deteriorate, shrink and move. This promotes nail punctures in your roof.
With today’s modern shingles the self adhesive strips adhere each together creating one solid surface. If modern shingles are applied to the individual boards the movement within the deck will cause wrinkling and buckling which will over time tear the shingles apart. That’s why we at Roy Dennis Roofing insist that every board deck be over laid with new plywood.
